you taught me to laugh
when I was feeling down
you taught me to cry
when I was hurt
or someone else needed sympathy
you taught me to hug
you taugh me how not to be afraid
when shadows were closing in
but most importantly
you taught me how to love
without end
to speak
without words
to listen
with my heart.

we both spoke
a different language
but we understood
each other.
